The next meeting of Sudbourne Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 28th March 2023 at 7:00pm in Sudbourne Village Hall - Agenda - Click Here

Members of the public and the press are cordially invited to be present at any or all of the meetings.  Meetings may be filmed, photographed, recorded or reported about.  Agendas for all the meetings can be found on the Council website and village noticeboards at least three clear working days before the meeting.

EVENT - The Rural Coffee Caravan will be visiting Sudbourne Village Hall on Thursday 30th March 2023 betwee 10 and 12 noon.  There will be free tea and cake.  They will be accompanied by Communities Together East Anglia and will provide an opportunity for some company and a catch up with friends and neighbours over a cup of tea or coffee, with biscuits and cake.

Both organisations provide a wealth of free information which we are sure you will find useful, so pop along and see how they can help you.  We look forward to seeing you.

The Parish Council is able to provide small donations to organisations that benefit our community.  Please find attached our Donations Policy here - Click Here

The Parish Council's responsibilities include:

  • Finance - The Parish Council are responsible for the approval and monitoring of Council expenditure, annually analysing future funding requirements and recommending the precept to be raised. also arranging insurance of parish property. The Council finances go through both an Internal and External Audit annually.

  • Parish Property - The Parish Council are responsible for the Play Area at The Close, The Village Sign, Bus Shelter and the 2 Notice-boards.

  • Planning - The Parish Council receives and considers consultation copies of all Planning Applications relating to the Parish. Recommendations from the Council either in support of the application or as objections, are passed to East Suffolk Council who, as the local Planning Authority, may take note of these comments in their determination of the application. A full list of planning applications considered by the Parish Council can be viewed on East Suffolk Council's website.

  • Highways - The Parish Council liaises with the local highway authority on matters such as road condition and cleaning, signposting etc.
